Tue 2/11 @ 7:30PM
One of the more interesting open mics in town takes place at the Church at Cleveland Public Theatre on the second Tuesday of each month. It’s called the Dark Room and its focus is on writers. It gives them a chance to present some new material, or something they’re working on — dialogues, poetry, essays, novel excerpts — to hear it read aloud by actors and get feedback from a sympathetic and engaged audience.
Here’s how it works. Writers and actors start signing up at 6:45. Writers should bring something no more than 10 minutes long with enough copies for each actor required. Actors are cast on the spot, and works are first come, first served until the slots are filled. Reading starts at 7:30. And there’s free beer!
Suggested donations of $5 at the door are welcome but not required.
