Fri 2/14-Sun 3/9
The 2015 musical Waitress is based on a 2007 about a waitress and amateur baker who enters a pie-baking contest, hoping that its $20,000 can help her overcome an abusive marriage and unexpected pregnancy. The music was written by pop singer Sara Bareilles who was part of the all-woman production team and played the lead role in the original production and in the 2021 Broadway restaging.
That music will now be onstage at the Beck Center’s Senney Theatre as part of its collaboration with the acclaimed Baldwin Wallace Music Theatre Program, directed by that program’s longtime director, Victoria Bussert, now at Oberlin College.
The show runs Thursdays through Saturday @ 7:30pm and Sundays @ 2pm, through March 9. Get tickets here.
