Story Club Cleveland Is Back at a New Venue

Wed 1/15 @ 7PM

Story Club Cleveland has been around. It was at CLE Urban winery in Cleveland Heights until late 2023 when it moved to the Brownhoist. It cut ties with the Brownhoist a few months ago and took a hiatus. But it’s back now, with a new venue and a new day for its monthly events: it’ll be at Forest City Brewery in Ohio City on the second Wednesday of each month.

The format will be the same though. Story Cleveland Cleveland founder Dana Norris will host an evening the kicks off with a couple of guest storytellers, sharing a personal tale around the month’s theme, followed by three audience storytellers who sign up for time on the mic.

This month’s theme is Renew, appropriate for the return of the event. Guest story tellers are former Heights Arts poet laureate Siaara Freeman and artist Michael Pomerantz. Anyone who wants to sign up to follow them should prepare a true story no longer than eight minutes or 1300 words. If more than three people sign up to tell stories, names will be drawn from a nat. Sign up for audience storytellers starts at 7, and the program starts at 7:30.
