The first major event presented by Quest for the Fest, an informal group of area creators – mostly visual artists — who have been meeting. since last March, took place at the Brownhoist on Saturday January 25. Organized by Darl Schaaff and Stormie Sweitzer, it asked those who had been attending the meetings to invite others they knew on the wider arts community to attend a “Wonderquest” whose details were initially sort of mysterious.
About 100 adventurers showed up — ranging from students to heavy hitters in the arts community. After being divided into four groups representing the elements of water, air, fire and earth, they shared their stories with each other and then pursued four individual “side quests” that began with the premise that all art had disappeared. After an hour the group came together to share what they had discovered and to enjoy food, drink and a dance party.
