People in northeast Ohio are tough — and nothing stops them from going outside and having fun, as is shown by the number of outdoor winter festivals providing cold-weather fun and lots of employment for ice carvers.
This weekend, Lake Metro Parks Farmpark is offering an evening and full day of wintery activities for all ages at its Ice Festival. On Friday evening it will unveil the ice chair, where you can take selfies all weekend, host an ice carving demonstration and conclude things with a battle of fire and ice.
Saturday brings a bunch more ice craving, with ice carvers from around the country converging for a speed carving contest. You can try out the ice slide, check out animal exhibits and watch milking, or enjoy cocoa and s’mores around a fire pit. Yes, there are indoor activities too, such as the Fun of the Farm indoor play area, in case your kids complain their toes are getting numb.
