It’s Time Again for Snow Day in Kent

Sat 1/25 @ noon-6PM

For the second year, the City of Kent is leaning into the cold weather with its Snow Day, sponsored by Main Street Kent. Start at the Hometown Bank Plaza in the heart of downtown Kent, where there will be outdoor firepits, free s’more-making supplies, free cake pops from the Daisy Pops PopMobile for all who complete the scavenger hunt, and live music with Babies in Black at 12:30pm, Grandpa Winnie at 2:30 and Vinyl Arcade at 4:30.

All around downtown there’ll be family-friendly activities to check out including games and crafts in the Gazebo at West Main and South Franklin, winter market and face painting — alert the kids! — at Acorn Alley, and a frozen Turkey Bowling Game at Townhall II on return for donations of hats, scarves and gloves to be donated to the Neighborhood Bridges Program at the Kent City Schools. There will be ice carving, of course — it seems to be the new requirement for winter festivals — and a little less predictably, axe-throwing at North Water Brewing (adults only!) But there will crafts and games at multiple businesses, and between those and the face painting, the kids should stay entertained.
