Images Come Alive as Artist Tells Transgender Fairy Tales atWaterloo Arts

Fri 1/15 @ 7-9PM

Currently, there’s a two-man show up at the Waterloo Arts gallery in the Waterloo Arts District called “The Harvest in the Paper Garden.” One half of it features a series of comic-style pieces by Leo Covault telling a fantastic fairy tale of transformation.

If you’d like to meet the artist and learn the stories behind his visual works, come to the gallery for a transgender fairy tale reading and discussion. The artists will do a live reading of three of his fairy tales involving cross dressing and/or gender transformation, followed by a group discussion. It’s a chance to see his work, along with the patterned print work of his gallery colleague Melih Meriç, whose work is based on designs drawn from Turkish culture.

It’s free and open to all.
