The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Cleveland in Shaker Heights hosts a series of biweekly forums on Sunday morning, covering current events topics of interest to the community.
This week it will be hosting a forum rescheduled from December 15 called “Antisemitism: What Gave it Birth? What Sustains It? How To Eliminate It?” Given shadow president Elon Musk’s Nazi salute at the inauguration, it couldn’t be more timely.
The speaker is Rabbi Roger Klein, from Congregation Mishkan Or, a new community formed from the merging of The Temple-Tifereth Israel and Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple. He’ll explore the historic roots of anti-Semitism, the different things that fuel it in today’s culture and why it’s re-emerging now. The organizers emphasize that this forum isn’t about the Israel/Gaza conflict so don’t bring your beefs about that.
All are welcome to attend; the Unitarian Universal Church doesn’t pressure or proselytize.
