No, it’s not time for another Chagrin Documentary Film Festival — that happens in the fall. But the CDFF folks are offering a little taste of what they bring to the table to brighten up the long winter evenings. For four nights at their home in Chagrin Falls they’ll be offering a travelog with four films from around the world in its Take a Trip Around the World series. The journey starts in Slovenia with Emerald Paradise: Fly Fishing in Soča Valley on Tuesday January 14. It then journeys to Paraguay with Landfill Harmonic, about the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura which creates all its instruments from trash. That screens on Wednesday January 15.
On Thursday January 16, Down River Jordan will again cross the Atlantic to explore the environmental impact on a dying river between Jordan, Israel and Palestine. Finally, on Friday January 17, Angel of Nanjing goes to China to tell the story of a man whose job it is to prevent people from committing suicide off the Yangtze River bridge.
Each screening is $15 which includes a glass of wine or beer, or see all four for $50. Go here for tickets.
