The Fifth Wheel Celebrates New Single with Holiday Concert

Fri 12/20 @ 6-10PM

The Fifth Wheel were one of Cleveland’s most promising alternative rock bands in the 90s, when they released two highly touted albums, Nothing (1995) and Therapy for the Sane (1997). Then life got in the way and the band faded out, leaving fans with fond memories.

But they seem to have gotten a second wind since they reunited in 2015 with a new album, Even Without Wings, and began playing shows with original members Tom Weyand (bass), Matt Coughlin (drums), Jeff Koval (electric guitar) and Josh Stone (vocals and acoustic guitar). Their latest album Tilt came out earlier this year, and they recently released a new holiday single called “I Miss You Christmas,” written by Stone and Weyand. It also features Tim Longfellow on Hammond organ and keyboards and Lauren Branson on backing vocals, along with a 20-voice choir of local musicians.

The band will celebrate the single and the holiday season with a show called A Very 330 Christmas at Akron’s Rilato Theatre which also features Longfellow, Sophia Fisher, Bill Stone of Paranoid Lovesick, Brian Lisik, Dallas Ruffle of Somasonic, and Josh Wozny. Ticket holders will also get an EP featuring the Christmas song, and donations will be collected for the Humane Society.
