It looks like 2025 is shaping up to be another great year for Akron-based country/roots/honky-tonk band the Shootouts, which has been having quite a few great years recently.
Formed by guitarist/vocalist Ryan Humbert as a side project to his Ryan Humbert Band, the Shootouts quickly consumed that project. They now have three albums which have made the national Americana charts, toured around the country, appeared on major festivals, and made repeat appearances at Nashville’s country music flagship show, the Grand Ole Opry.
Now on January 4, 2025, they’ll be making their debut at the Opry’s legendary Ryman Auditorium, which housed the Opry until the mid 70s. It’s part of a series of shows called “Opry at the Ryman: Opry 100” celebrating the Opry’s centennial. It will be their seventh Opry appearance.
“We are beyond excited to step onto the stage of the Ryman Auditorium for the first time,” says Humbert. “This venue holds so much history and meaning in country music. To be a small part of the Opry’s centennial celebration is a true honor, and we can’t wait to play our music in that incredible room.”
The band is also going to be making a big announcement onstage that evening. So stay tuned. Go to shootoutsmusic.com for more information and breaking news on the band’s activities.
