New Free Musicians Program Explores Music’s Connection to Mental Health

Wed 12/4 @ 6-8PM

The nonprofit Music Rocks: Past Present Future, which was founded to provide education and services to musicians to help them build their careers, is starting a new monthly series of programs called Music Connects to Health.

“Our goal is to connect the music community to resources and services in mental health, health, and wellness,” they say. “To not just survive as a musician, but to thrive as a music community.”

At the first program, Dr. Will Washington, a licensed professional clinical counselor, will talk about art as a reflection of one’s inner and external environment and explore the question, “What does your art say about your mental health?” It takes place at the Cleveland Rocks Shop in the Waterloo Arts District. It’s free but you should register because space is limited. Go here.
