Little Italy’s Holiday Art Walk Has More Activities Than Ever

Fri 12/6 @ 5-9PM

Sat 12/7 @ noon-9PM

Sun 12/8 @ noon-5PM

If you haven’t checked out Cleveland’s historic Little Italy neighborhood in a while, a good time to go back might be its annual Holiday Art Walk weekend. While it’s not as filled with artist studios as it once was, there are still dozens of enticing businesses, including eateries, bars, gelato and wine shops, bakeries, galleries, vintage stores, gift shops and more. And you’ve got three days to get down there, enjoy some traditional or modern Italian food and do some browsing and shopping.

There are several things new for this art walk. Alta House, founder in 1895 as a Settlement House and now home to Cleveland Montessori, will host a holiday boutique Saturday December 7 from 10am-6pm with a variety of handmade items. They’ll also have refreshments available, and a family cocoa & crafts session from 10am-noon. There will be a curated tour of the 1910 Holy Rosary Church on Sunday at 1pm and a concert at the church Saturday at 2pm by Cleveland Institute of Music students.

The old Murray Hill Schoolhouse is still home to artist studios as well as boutiques including that of painter Tricia Kaman who will be hosting a 35th anniversary open house Saturday December 7 from 6-8:30 where she’ll be offering visitors drinks and snacks and a 25% discount on everything. In addition, there’ll be guest artists in the Schoolhouse for the weekend.

Then mosey over to Moonstruck CLE Vintage where you’ll always discover something new and interesting. This weekend, it’ll be showing the work of Cleveland artist Dale Gallis depicting Cleveland skylines and churches.

For the first time The art walk is offering a Passport to Little Italy, a map and passport card that visitor can have stamped a various business and then dropped in the Little Italy dropbox at 12018 Mayfield for chances to win prizes. Go here for information.

They claim there are 10,000 parking spaces with walking distance and while I’m skeptical, you can go here to look for them.
