Mon 12/30 @ 5-9PM
It’s holiday season, and in addition to Christmas and Hanukkah, there’s Kwanzaa, a week-long celebration (December 26-January 1) of African-American culture with each day dedicated to a different principle.
The fifth day is devoted to Nia, or Purpose, and that’s the day when Karamu House, Cleveland’s legendary, more than 100 year old, community center will be hosting its community Kwanzaa celebration.
Doors open at 5:30 with a ceremony in the Jelliffe Theatre at 6:30pm. That will be followed from 7-8pm with arts workshops throughout the building; there’ll also be a marketplace with local artists and vendors from 6-9pm.
The event is free and family-friendly, but you must register. Go here.
