Sun 12/22 @ 10AM
If you’ve got nothing planned for Sunday, you might want to spend the day in the Waterloo Arts District where there’ll be a lot of stuff going on, including an opportunity to pick up some last-minute holiday gifts or to hear some local music in a variety of venues up and down the street.
You can start off at the Beachland Tavern for their weekly brunch at 10am where legendary Cleveland punk rocker Tony Erba will be spinning the tunes. Then drop in next door at the Beachland Holiday Flea where some two dozen vendors will be selling records, jewelry, posters, vintage clothes, collectibles, music memorabilia and more from 10am-3pm. (Admission is free.)
There’s another holiday shopping chance up the street at Waterloo Arts where the Waterloo artists coop market is happening from noon-4pm with variety of items, ranging from paintings to jewelry to colorful scarves to preserves and honey, many of them made by artists and crafters right in the neighborhood. (If anyone’s shopping for me, get me one of the book/gift certificate packages from Meadow City Native Plants just up the street.)
Then there’s Winterloo, so you can hear four sets by four bands at four different Waterloo Road venues, starting with Martini 5-0 at Praxis Fiber Workshop at 1pm, an hour of singer-songwriters at the Cleveland Rocks Shop at 2, the Super Babes at the Millard Fillmore at 3, and Hubbs Groove at the Beachland Tavern at 4. If you still haven’t had enough the Ohio City Singers are doing a concert at the Treelawn Social Club at 5; get tickets here.
