British-born actress/vocalist Helen Welch settled in Cleveland almost two decades ago and has become a beloved part of the area jazz scene. She’s also become known for her creative holiday shows such as her Carpenters Christmas, and an album titled Home for Christmas.
This year’s Christmas show is called A Little More Naughty Than Nice and will focus on her cheeky, humorous, decidedly less serious (and not always strictly Christmas-y) side, with tunes such as “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm,” “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend”, “Can’t Buy Me Love” and “Let the Good Times Roll,” as well as traditional holiday tunes with a smart-alecky twist.
