Fri 1/3 @ 5-9PM
It’s a bit of a slow month for the Walk All over Waterloo art walk, with several galleries closed or the month, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still places opening to duck inside with things to see.
One of those is Waterloo Arts, which will be hosting its opening reception for The Harpist in the Paper Garden by Leo Covault and Melih Meriç, two young artists in their 20s, from 6-9pm with an artist talk at 7:30. It features multi-layered prints by Meriç drawing on Turkish craft traditions and mixed-media fairy tale-inspired works by Covault. The opening will feature live printing in the gallery from a collaborative printing block made by both artists. The show will be on view through February 15.
Be sure to check out Leslie Discont Arian’s From Golum to Miriam at Article gallery from 5-9pm with an artist dialogue from 7-8pm, and Great Expectations, a preview of upcoming exhibit this year at William Busta Projects from 5-8pm. Also opening on Waterloo during the art walk is Mary Defer’s Secret Family, sponsored by the Cleveland Print Room at Praxis Fiber Workshop’s gallery. Learn more here.
