Cats on Holiday Do Kinks Tribute Show Prior to Launching a New Album of Originals

Sat 12/28 @ 7-10PM

Swamp rockers cats on Holiday have been a staple of the Cleveland music scene for decades. Fronted by vocalist/guitarist/accordion player Denis DeVito, who roots in the scene got back to Lucky Pierre in the late 70s, the band is known for its energetic, party-starting music, livening up festivals, special events and area clubs with their distinctive blend of zydeco-tinged rock and roll.

One of the biggest influences on DeVito’s songwriting is the Kinks, and every once in a while, the band likes to pay tribute to that influence with a “God Save the Kinks” show, performing some of the British band’s well-known (and very British!) ’60s and ’70s hits as well as some Ray Davies-penned rarities. They will be doing another such show at Forest City Brewery this week, just as they’re launching a new 32-track album called Cat Flash, featuring 26 of their original tunes.
