WRHS Presents a Conversation with Two African-American Photographer/Veterans

Sun 11/10 @ 2PM

This Sunday, the Western Reserve Historical Society will be hosting a special conversation that brings together its current exhibit History in Their Hands: Black Photographers in Cleveland, Ohio 1968 to Present and Veterans Day.

It will feature two artists who are part of the show, Charles Jackson Pinkney and Mychal Lilly, who are both military veterans, in conversation with African-American history scholar Dr. Reginnia N. Williams. The event, part of the “Coffee and Conversations About History” series, takes place in the reception area next to the African American History Gallery. Keyboard player Daesean Lawson will provide music. Attendees will be able to buy copies of legendary photographer Gordon Parks’ autobiography, A Choice of Weapons, with proceeds benefiting WRHS’s African American History Initiative.
