Winterland on Public Square Ushers in the Holiday Season

Sat 11/30 @ 4-6:30PM

For many years now, Cleveland has officially launched its holiday season on Thanksgiving weekend with a festive downtown event that’s now dubbed WinterLand.

While the main event starts at 4pm, events kick off as early as 10am when the Cleveland Bazaar sets up its makers and vendors in the 5th Street Arcades, where they’ll be selling a mix of distinctive handmade items, by local vendors until 8pm.

The Public Square rink is open for skating from noon-10pm, with food trucks, a DJ and face painting going on. Santa and other holiday characters will be making appearances. There’ll be activities at Towe City from noon-7pm, and the Cleveland Public Library will have a gaming arcade open from 10am-5pm, with new technologies to explore. So if you want to make a day of it downtown, there’ll be plenty to do.

Then drag the kids away from the face painter and head for the main stage on Public Square at 4pm when the main event starts. The live stage show starts at 4 with the band SHOUT! followed by an ice skating show at 4:30pm, RealPopFusion at 5pm and performers from the Cleveland All City Musical at 5:30pm. Then the tree is lit up at 6pm, followed immediately by that all-time Cleveland favorite event: fireworks!

It’s all free. Get more details about events taking place here.
