Antwoine Washington moved to Cleveland after finishing art school and became a mail carrier. He eventually rekindled his passion for art and quit to pursue it fulltime. His life took a turn when he suffered a stroke in six years ago, but he art proved essential in his path to recovery. Since then he’s started a nonprofit called the Museum of Creative Human, shown his work at the Yards Project, Artists Archives of the Western Reserve, Deep Dive Projects and Hopkins International Airport, and curated shows for Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
His next big show takes place at Shaheen Fine Art in Beachwood, where his Reconstructing the Narrative: Journey Through Restoration and Renewal opens this week with a free public reception Thursday November 21. Learn more about the artist here.
