If a holiday event goes on for 40 years, you know that people are loving it – and this will be year number 40 for Medina’s Candlelight Walk. Taking place in the Medina Square on Historic District. Even if you’re not from Medina, you’re welcome to enjoy the official lighting on Friday evening at 7pm with more than 2,000 luminaries positioned around the square, and come back for the festivities that take place all weekend.
They include the Holiday Parade of Lights and Fireworks on Saturday — and who in northeast Ohio doesn’t love fireworks? — carriage rides and screenings of The Grinch on Sunday and multiple chances for kids to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. There’ll be other activities all around downtown, including ice carving demonstrations, scenes from A Christmas Carol, s’mores being served at Discount Drugs, live music, crafts, a petting zoo, a bake sale, and even live reindeer. And there’ll be free shuttles to take visitors from place to place.
