Hear Some Free Holiday-Themed Classical Music in CMA’s Atrium

Wed 12/4 @ 6PM

The Cleveland Museum of Art is open until 9pm on Wednesdays, making it a great place to stop by on a dark, cold winter evening to be uplifted and inspired by the works in its collection.

And on Wednesday December 4, you can also catch a free performance in its Ames Family Atrium that will put you (and your kids — bring them too!) in a holiday mood. It will feature dancers from the Cleveland Ballet and rising-star musicians from M.U.S.I.C., including violinist Maude Cloutier, sax player Perry Roth, pianist Alexander Kotritsa and soprano Catherina Carrington.

The light-hearted program of short pieces includes excerpts from Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty ballets, “The Swan” from Camille Saint-Saëns’ The Carnival of the Animals, a selection from J.S. Bach’s Coffee Cantata, the Mozart piano Trio “Sleigh Ride,” and arrangements of Antonio Vivaldi’s and Felix Mendelssohn’s “Winter,” plus waltzes, vocal works and more.

And it’s all free — admission to the museum and the performances.
