Sat 11/30 @ 8PM
A bunch of Cleveland reggae legends will be onstage at the Beachland Ballroom Thanksgiving weekend, offering an uplifting takeoff to the holiday season and a great way to dance off those Thanksgiving calories.
Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band headline, offering a sunny sound and outlook that can bring summertime vibes to the darkest, dreariest November evening. Carlos has been a Cleveland reggae star since he fronted First Light, Cleveland’s biggest drawing band of any genre from the mid ’80s until its breakup in 1998 when he went on to do the P.L.U.S. band full-time. Since then they’ve been a staple at virtually every outdoor summer concert series.
Shake (pronounced “Shaky”) Ground features most of the other members of First Light, including guitarist Gino Long and Michael “Chopper” Wasson, who co-fronted the band with Carlos. They’re basically a continuation of their long-running band Outlaws I & I which changed its name a couple of years ago when frontman Butchie retired.
