Derek Hess’s First Show in Six Years Is a Highlight of November Third Friday

Art by Derek Hess

Fri 11/15 @ 5-9PM

A little art is always good for the soul, and you can enjoy a LOT of art — or as much as you want — at 78th Street Studios on Third Friday.

Stop in at HEDGE Gallery for the opening of the HeART of Cleveland show, work by 50 diverse artists who contributed to Scott Kraynak’s book HeART of Cleveland Volume 2. Then browse all four floors to discover new work in galleries, artist studios and shops.

You also want to be sure to stop in the Derek Hess Gallery, where the namesake artist will be doing his first major show since 2018, Not Going to Stop …Until I Go Too Far, showing new work that displays his signature unfiltered intensity that’s earned him international fame and countless commissions from rock bands as intense as his artwork.

Also stop in Gallery 215, where artist Guice Mann will be performing selections from his album Fries and a Salad and talking about his show Chaos Leprechaun Wizard, which is currently on view there.

NorthCoast Promotions will again have more than 80 local guest artisans in the event space, and Local West and Saha! Egyptian Bakery will be offering food. Musicians will be scattered throughout the building including Opus 216, singer/songwriter Jeff West and DJ Sunset.

It’s free and open to all, including kids and dogs.
