At this point, the day before the election, we have no idea who is going to win the presidential election or control either house of Congress. The latter especially is up in the air. (Things look pretty good for Harris but we’ll see.)
In recent years, Congress has become more divided as Democrats across the spectrum have worked to pass legislation while moderate and even traditional conservative Republicans have increasingly been driven out and replaced by rigid ideologues more focused on partisan attacks than working for ordinary Americans.
Who will control Congress and how will they work with the next president, whoever it is? Does ANYONE
“work across the aisle” anymore? Two northeast Ohio congresspeople who are slam dunks for reelection — Shontel Brown (D-11) and Max Miller (R-7) — will be at the City Club Friday November 8, newly reelected, to talk about what to expect in the next session of Congress. WKYC’s Russ Mitchell will moderate. Get tickets here.
The forum will also be livestreamed on the City Club’s website at noon. If you have questions text 330-541-5794.
