Cleveland’s BlueWater Chamber Orchestra is calling their next concert “Interlaced Brilliance and Love.”
It will feature three pieces, opening with early 20th-century composer Gerald Finzi’s 1946 “Love’s Labors Lost.” It will be followed by Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “The Lark Ascending,” with featured soloist James Thompson, a Cleveland Institute of Music graduate who currently performs with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in New York. The single-movement work was inspired by an 1881 pastoral poem by George Meredith and first performed in 1920.
Finally the program will conclude with Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 104 (“London”), his final symphony, composed in 12795.
The concert takes place at the Church of the Covenant on University Circle. Get tickets here.
