Western Reserve Historical Society’s History on Tap Explores Paranormal & Spiritualist Practices

Thu 10/24 @ 5-8PM

The theme of the Western Reserve Historical Society’s History on Tap evening program this month is “Beyond the Veil,” an exploration of spiritualism, a movement that flourished in the 19th century when mediums and other intercessors claimed to be in contact with the dead, deities and other spirits.

Akron “metaphysical tea shop” The Healing Brew will host a professional medium reading and a demonstration of table tipping where a small group of people sits around a table and waits for it to start sending them signs. Mary Manning will talk about spirit photography in Cleveland, and WRHS costume curator Patty Edmunson will present information about mourning practices illustrated with a display of costumes.
