Take a Walk to Look for Fungi at the Mentor Marsh

Sun 10/27 @ 2PM

Mushrooms are so fascinating! They come in an unending range of sizes, shapes and colors, and they can be a tasty addition to meal — or lethal.

Learn more about them when the Cleveland Museum of Natural History holds its Mentor Marsh Hike “In the Hunt for Fungi.” Join a museum naturalist to tramp through the marsh, soak in the fall colors and search for fungi to add to iNaturalist data to its biodiversity project. Bring your iPad or phone with the iNaturalist app already on it. You can bring your own field guide, but they’ll also have some to share.

Don’t forget to wear sturdy shoes and warm clothes. The walk is moderate and family-friendly. Meet at the Sweet Nature Center at 5185 Corduroy Road, Mentor.
