Take a Hike to Discover Buried History at Local Cemeteries

Thu 10/24-Sun 10/27

In early summer, Canalway hosts the annual Cleveland History Days, a week-and-a-half span of events around the city that share diverse aspects of local history. But they’re not waiting until next June to give people another dose of the past. They’re sponsoring the first-ever Cleveland Buried History Days, four days of events at five historic Cleveland cemeteries.

At these events, tour leaders and historians will lead visitors on walks through Woodland Cemetery, Riverside Cemetery, Lake View Cemetery, Monroe Street Cemetery, and Erie Street Cemetery  and share stories about the lives and deaths of the people buried there, as well as information about the art and architect found in these spaces and the meaning of the symbolism on gravestones

Some events are free; others have a cost up to $20. Registration is required for most. Go here for a schedule and to reserve your spot.
