SHED Projects Unveils Its First Permanent Artwork Installation

Sat 10/26 @ 5-9PM

SHED Projects is a house gallery that opened in Cleveland’s west side earlier this year to display interesting and offbeat installation-style projects by artists from all over the country. Jon Gott and Gabrielle Banzhaf launched the project in 2021 at their home in New Orleans, then brought the concept with them to northeast Ohio.

On Saturday October 26, the gallery will host a One Piece Viewing event, with Chicago-based artist Travis Morehead coming to unveiling what will be the first permanent sculpture at SHED Projects, which was created to interact with the house and existing structures at SHED.

Called DOOR, we’re told that the artist’s “process of whittling down wood to its joints and bones frees the object from its functional burden. The result is a sculpture that invites aesthetic contemplation, animated by the artist’s careful attention to detail. As with all his works, DOOR reflects Travis’ ongoing exploration of the tension between form, material, and the human body.”

It’s free and open to all.
