SHED Projects is a house gallery opened earlier this year that shows installation-style artwork by artists from around the country. Jon Gott and Gabrielle Banzhaf launched the project in 2021 at their home in New Orleans, then brought the concept with them to northeast Ohio.
Its next show is called Fouling the Nest, featuring the work of Chicago artist/researcher Alex Adkinson with an interest in ecosystems and New York-based Nashville native artist/wildlife rehabilitator Tristan Higginbotham. The gallery’s statement tells us that it will explore “themes of home, decay, and environmental impact” through sculptural installations and mixed-media work, showing how humans impact the natural environment both for good and bad.
“The show invites viewers to reflect on the concept of ‘nesting’ and its inevitable disruptions, blending personal and ecological narratives,” they say.
The show opens Saturday October 12 from 5-9pm. It’s free and open to all.
