There’s a new classical music series in town called the Resonance Project that aims to get an audience to listen to music with the ears of a musician.
Its opening program features art songs Franz Schubert, Johannes Brahms, Claude Debussy, Manuel De Falla and Maurice Ravel divided into five sections titled “Buddings,” “Flowerings,” “Ripe,” “Rot” and “Seeds Again,” performed by pianist Irwin Shung and mezzo-soprano Kameryn Lueng. It’s described as a “compelling emotional journey through love pure and love decayed.” The program will feature English subtitles and commentary from the musicians about how the composers created images and emotions in sound.
It takes place at Forest Hill Presbyterian Church in Cleveland Heights. Get tickets here.
