Play “Grand Concourse” Addresses Spiritual Doubts and Questioning

The 2014 play Grand Concourse by Heidi Schreck deals with the nature of faith. Shelly is a nun who runs a Bronx soup kitchen while dealing with doubts as to the actual impact of her work.  She’s challenged by an idealistic college student, who comes to volunteer. We’re told, “Her reckless mix of generosity and self-involvement pushes Shelley to the breaking point.

The play will be performed by northeast Ohio’s small theater ensemble Seat of the Pants Productions at Christ Episcopal Church in Shaker Heights, directed by Craig Joseph. The cast includes Rachel Gold, Zyrece Montgomery, Jonathan Rodriguez and George Roth. Performances take place Friday through Sunday through Sunday October 27. Go here for tickets.
