Cleveland classical music lovers, say hello to pianist Daria Rabotkina, who’s new to town. She was born and raised in Kazan, Russian where she got her first formal education in music before attending New York’s Mannes School of Music and the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, where she got her doctorate. She quickly began winning competitions and performing with major orchestras and giving recitals in Europe and North America. She’s also released three recordings.
Why is she here? She joined the piano faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music at the beginning of the current academic year, after spend eight years as an associate professor of piano at Texas State.
Piano Cleveland is introducing her to the classical piano community here with a concert at the Treelawn in the Waterloo Arts District, where she’ll play solo pieces and duets with Piano Cleveland President Yaron Kohlberg. It’s free and open to all music lovers. Reserve your seat here.
