No Exit New Music, which offers programs of avant-garde and newly composed music, is opening its 16th season with a slew of world premieres and a special guest performer, violinist Mari Sato, joining the ensemble.
Among the new pieces is a solo work written by new No Exit member Katy La Favre, who will perform it. No Exit executive director Timothy Beyer and ensemble member James Praznik have written what they call “a series of improvisational miniatures that are meant to act as brief interludes between the other pieces.”
Hannah Kendall’s 2021 Tuxedo Crown; Sun King, Arthur Hernandez’s 2017 The Desperation of Jesus Christ and the world premiere of Josef Marek’s Momenti discreti VII are also on the program.
They’ll be performing at Cleveland State University’s Drinko Hall on Thursday October 7; at Waterloo Arts gallery in the Waterloo Arts District on Friday October 18; and at SPACES on Saturday October 19.
As always all the concerts are free and no reservation is necessary.
