LGBTQ+ Business Group and Newsroom Host Open House at Their New Offices Gordon Square

Thu 10/24 @ 5:30-8PM

Cleveland’s Plexus LGBTQ & Allied Chamber of Commerce has been doing economic and professional development work in Northeast Ohio’s LGBTQ community since 2006. Buckeye Flame was founded in 2020 as a nonprofit newsroom to collect and share stories pertinent to the LGBTQ community across Ohio. Given the plethora of such stories in the state — too many of them, sadly, negative — as politicians such as Ohio Senate candidate Bernie Moreno choose to demonize the community, they’ve expanded rapidly, having recently hired its first fulltime reporter as founder/editor Ken Schneck has left his former job as a professor at Bladwin Wallace University to focus on getting the news out.

Now the two organizations have opened offices in suites 9 and 10 of the Gordon Square Arcade on the corner of West 65thand Detroit Avenue. And they’re holding an open house to welcome supporters and share more about what they do. Ninja City just up the block will be catering the event, which is free and open to all.
