Sun 11/3 @ 3PM

Heights Arts kicks off a new season of its Close Encounters series, afternoon chamber music concerts in intimate venues performed by some of the area’s best classical musicians, curated by Cleveland Orchestra cellist Dane Johansen.

The first concert takes place at the Heights Theater on Coventry Village.  It’s called “Ouvrage de Dame: Music for Winds by Women of the Gilded Age.” The program features music by French women composers from the late 19th and early 20th century, performed by pianist Christina Dahl and wind soloists from the Cleveland Orchestra including flute player Joshua Smith, oboe player Frank Rosenwein, clarinetist Robert Woolfrey, bassoonist Gareth Thomas and French horn player Nathaniel Silberschlag.
