Back when the Plain Dealer actually covered such things, reporter Carolyn Jack did some excellent investigative journalism on the behind-the-scenes nuts and bolts of the area’s arts and culture scene. Alas she moved on and now lives in the New York area. And since leaving town she’s written short stories, plays, essays, poetry and even a film, as well as more arts journalism.

She’s now written a novel called The Changing of Keys, following a young pianist’s challenging journey through the world of classical music and his dive into the world of opera, fraught with pitfalls and backstabbing.

Jack will be back in town to talk about her book in an event sponsored by Mac’s Back on Coventry at the B-Side Lounge. It’s free and open to all. Get more information here.
