Exit Stencil Records Says Goodbye With Multi-Band Bash at the Happy Dog

Sat 10/12 @ 8:30PM

About ten to fifteen years ago, Cleveland-based Exit Stencil Records was cranking out releases by both some of the hottest indie rockers on the scene and legacy bands as well. They supported bands who were then active in the area music scene such as Hot Cha Cha, the New Lou Reeds, Extra Medium Pony, Filmstrip and Herzog and made their music more accessible, and reissued albums by bands such as Kent’s Numbers Band and 70s Cleveland band the Damnation of Adam Blessing.

Although the label hasn’t been that active in recent years, it’s hosting a concert at the Happy Dog, which was a sort of hub for these bands, dubbed the Exit Stencil Going Out of Business Party. Among the bands performing with be Hot Cha Cha (who haven’t performed in a decade or more), the New Lou Reeds, Home and Garden, This Moment in Black History, Filmstrip, Mystery of Two, and Extra Medium Pony.
