Dress Up Your Dog for the Lakewood Spooky Pooch Parade

Sat 10/12 @ 12:30-3:30PM

The month of October is filled with “spooky” events, now that Halloween has become an entire season and not just a day or a weekend. But one of the most fun, and seriously, the least actually “spooky,” is Lakewood’s Spooky Pooch Parade, now in its 17th year. I mean, face it: cute dogs in costumes aren’t actually very “spooky.”

But the procession of such costumed dogs, taking place starting Madison Park in Lakewood’s Birdtown neighborhood and marching down Madison and adjoining streets, will have you oohing and aahing and cooing as they show off their creative gear. There’s also entertainment in the park, pumpkin painting, food trucks and pet-related vendors with the parade stepping off at 2pm. There are also prizes for Best Pooch & Child, Best Pooch & Adult, Best Pooch & Group, Spookiest Pooch and Best in Show.

If you think you have a great idea for a dog costume, you can pre-register your own dog for a $15 fee (You can register onsite for $20). The event is free to attend.
