Come in Costume to CMNH’s Think & Drink With the Extinct: Monster Mash

Thu 10/24 @ 6PM

Kids have always loved Halloween but in recent decades, it’s also become a big holiday for adults. So this month’s Think and Drink With the Extinct, the 21-and-over evenings at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, invites guests to come in costume.

“Calling all ghouls, goblins, and ghosts: Dust off your costumes, break out your magical dance moves, and assemble your spooky squad,” they say. “The time has come for an evening of wicked fun.”

At Think and Drink Monster Mash, all kinds of activities will be going on to amuse the costumed guests. There’ll be a DJ playing music for dancing for those who just want to have some fun. There’ll be games such as Halloween trivia and the Dino Mystery Maze. And there’ll be educational activities such as an interactive game to learn how animals adapt to survive and fossil casts of the largest ape to ever exist with Associate Curator Dr. Emma Firestone providing background. Join Dr. Nicole Burt, Curator of Human Health & Evolutionary Medicine, to learn about the “science of monsters” and why some of the monsters of fiction can’t exist, scientifically speaking.  But a reptile rescue group will bring some live creepy, crawly things.

If the weather permits, you can also stargaze in the courtyard.  There’s even costume contest and everyone who wears a costume will be entered in a raffle to win a museum membership. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Get tickets here.
