Akron Civic Theatre’s big annual benefit The Masque of the Red Death is back for another year, inviting guests to come in attire as ornate as the spectacular nearly 100-year-old theater.
Based loosely on the Edgar Allan Poe story but without any actual plague (COVID gave us our fill of that), the evening is described as a “macabre Halloween masquerade party for adults.” Guests are advised to come in elegant and extravagant costumes, gowns and masks.
The evening features a full open bar with signature cocktails, light appetizers, music for dancing and all kinds of entertainers stationed throughout the theater, creating unexpected occurrences.
