Attendees share their thoughts on the festival with on-the-street interviewer Owein Grant, followed by Porch Commentary by notorious writing/podcasting duo Eric & Dawn Olsen.

The 12th annual music and arts festival didn’t disappoint, bringing 153 bands to the porches of Highland Square. The neighborhood swarmed with over 100 vendors, designated kid zones & activities, live art demonstrations and a 5K.

For businesses of the Square, Porch Rokr is the busiest day of the year. Between 11 am and 7:30 pm, a perpetual line spilled out the door of Angel Falls Coffee Co. Inside, the baristas produced a conveyor belt of caffeine, efficiently fulfilling orders of patrons new and regular.

The Highland Square Theatre took the opportunity to declutter, unboxing hundreds of movie posters to sell at PorchRokr. Attendees flocked to the marquee to browse the impressive collection. Occasional gasps and shrieks could be heard as attendees dug up nostalgic gems, such as Honey I Shrunk the Kids (1989) and Shrek (2001).

Despite a decent burst of rain, festival spirits weren’t dampened. Patios remained packed and the bands kept playing. The bar has been set for next year’s Porch Rokr.
