Verbena Free Spirited Shoppe’s name describes its offerings: It’s a non-alcoholic bar, café, retail shop and community event space, located in Cleveland’s Hingetown neighborhood, across from Saucy Brewery to offer something entirely different.
Its website says, “Rooted in both community and education, Verbena looks to elevate and expand people’s perception of what a life sans alcohol can be by offering a shared workspace cafe meets neighborhood bar and bottle shop.”
Verbena opened in 2023 in the space on the corner previously occupied by Cleveland Tea Revival, and it’s kept many of that business’s menu items, herbs and tea blends as well as coffees and mocktails. It offers an all-vegetarian “day food” menu of sandwiches and other lunchable items (rice bowl, chickpea salad), and a “night food” menu of app-style munchies, plus an intriguing and diverse dessert menu. Verbena also hosts events such as classes, tastings, tea ceremonies, and paint-and-sip classes.
