Painting by Dee Fairweather

Fri 10/4 @ 5-9PM

It’s time for the quarterly Akron Art Walk which means that Summit Art Space is opening a batch of new shows for the fall, in addition to the open studios of all the artists who work in the building.

They include the 22nd annual Kaleidoscope juried exhibition, the annual holiday shows presented by the Alliance for the Visual Arts; Totally Stoned featuring primitive landscapes of rock formations by painter Greg Caudill, who called himself the “anti-Bob Ross”; the Artists of Rubber City member show; Ohio Reclaimed: What Once Was, a group show with work by photographer Mary Defer, poetry by Theresa Göttl Brightman and paintings by Dee Fairweather (seen above) looking at northeast Ohio landmarks being reclaimed by nature; and Environ: in transport of delight by Lindsay Martin Gryskewich, “texturally dense” paintings of both indoor and outdoor spaces that surround the artist.

The shows remain on view through December 14.
