Richmond Heights Armenian Church Shares Its Culture at Festival

Fri 9/20 @ 4-9PM

Sat 9/21 @ noon-9PM

The end of summer and early fall always brings a lot of ethnic church festivals, with numerous opportunities to check out food, faith and arts from the wide range of cultures that make our region so richly diverse.

This weekend the Armenians over at St. Gregory of Narek church in Richmond Heights will be inviting the community to share the things they’re proud of. There’s ethnic food, of course, the mainstay of such festivals. Much of Armenian cuisine shares elements of Middle Eastern and Greek food including shish kabob, rice pilaf, cheese pastries and pakhlava so most visitors will find it appealingly familiar.

Find a place to sit and enjoy your food while watching one of the multiple performances of the church’s Armenian dance ensemble or the local Armenian musicians who’ll be playing throughout the day. All food and entertainment will take place outside.  There’s also a boutique where you can pick up Armenian-made items, cultural exhibits, activities for the kids, and church tours. Both admission and parking are free.
