Thu 9/12 @ 7PM
Peter Jespersen is a music manager/writer who worked at record stores and music publications, co-founded Twin/Tone Records, Signed the Replacements and became their manager — poor man! — and served as tour manager for R.E.M. He’s written about his action-packed 50 years in the music business in a memoir titled Euphoric Recall, published late last year.
Tommy Stinson is better known to rock fans than Jespersen, having been the singer/songwriter/frontman for the acclaimed but chaotic Replacements, known for their unpredictable shows that ranged from ecstasy-inducing to revulsion-producing (I once saw them throw a tantrum at the Variety Theatre because the audience wasn’t suitably responsive for their taste.)
Jesperson and Stinson will both be at the Rock Hall for a conversation with the Rock Hall’s Senior Director of Museum & Archival Collections Andy Leach to talk about their experiences. Afterwards, Stinson will do a short performance and Jespersen will sign his book.
