During the run of each of the shows in its gallery, Heights Arts holds an event called Ekphrastacy in which area poets performing responses to the works on view.
Heights poet laureate Siaara Freeman will host the upcoming event, bringing along guest poets Willow Watson, Corey Miller, and former Cleveland Heights Poet Laureate Gale Bellamy. They’re share their reactions to Gina Washington’s show, Things We Can’t Leave Behind, in the Spotlight Gallery, and the group show Constructed Nature, which includes work by Bonnie App, Marlisa Dunn, Arron Foster, Ernest Hatten, Hallee Palermo and Lori Pastor. In addition, the artists will be on hand to offer their own take on the works.
The event is free and open to all.
