It’s time again for the monthly Walk All over Waterloo and hopefully the rain in the forecast on Tuesday won’t be happening so the music outdoors on the Tower Stage can happen. This month’s performers meld jazzy sounds with tropical ones. Cleveland/Brazilian guitarist/vocalist Moises Borges will play songs from and influenced by his native Bahai, while Cleveland Puerto Rican timbales player/vocalist Sammy DeLeon and pianist Jackie Warren will bring a quartet including. Bassist Kip Reed and sax player Chris Burge, to play their irresistibly infectious Latin jazz.

The Maria Neil Art Project, upstairs in the building above Doinks Smash Burger and KINK Contemporary gallery, is opening a show of new gel medium transfer works by veteran Cleveland artist Bridget Ginley, which she says “explore the rebirth of image and memory.” In it she’s manipulated older photo images she found on old computers and Flickr accounts of things such as old industrial buildings, dead malls, lift bridges and amusement park rides, to transform the original images into something new.  She says, “This makes the photography look ghostly as if it is a dream or a memory…My memories are brighter and they convey a sense of the love and hope I had for my city shine through within these pieces; a ghostly image of the past becomes alive again.”

Be sure to stroll the street and see what’s new and ongoing at all the galleries. It’s great free entertainment!
